2015 Roadshows......Portsmouth International Ferry Port

In February, at Portsmouth International Ferry Port, in a 10m x 12m area in the passenger terminal, we created a Marine Wildlife Zone. Working with ORCAWeb, the Port, and Brittany Ferries, we provided 4 days of interactive learning for visiting school groups, and lots of info on the marine wildlife that might be seen from the ferries out of Portsmouth.

In a space 10m x 12m we created our Marine Wildlife Zone in the passenger terminal
....along with artefacts and info on the work of ORCAweb and Brittany Ferries sailing from Portsmouth

Very busy on opening day, with lots of media attention from TV and the press, and school groups visiting through the day

A simple science demonstration beside the Sperm Whale
...and a pupil gets interviewed for the regional TV news broadcast that night
A welcome rest for the Portsmouth Port mascot
Out in the central passenger terminal area, a pair of Killer Whales keep watch
School groups loved the show, and here they have a class picture taken with the ORCA presenters and some of the wildlife
Great fun was had by all

...even a chance to draw and colour in the great little booklet each pupil received
